Punks Jump Up!

Disco is jumping again and I thought I'd share my renewed love for it with this mix I recorded when I opened for the Juan Maclean. It's not all disco but I know there's a few tracks that people like the guy in photograph will be feeling. Look at him go!

Glitch Mob

We've got the california glitch crew coming up to Alberta to do shows in Calgary & Edmonton.
I'll be playing the show on the 17th @ The Royal Canadian Legion No.1 (116 7th ave SW) here in Calgary.

February is shaping up pretty nicely after a wild night last friday @ I Love Techno. It was our 5th annual and we have sets from Dj Anx as well as the Sweet Zombie Jesus Mix, they'll be up on here asap. But until then I've got a sample from my playlist for the Glitch Mob show.

The track is a collaboration between Modeselektor & Apparat, it came from this compilation disc. I'd like to see these guys do a album together especially since I still can't get enough of Modeselektor's Hello Mom! album.

Moderat feat. Paul St.Hilarire - Let Your Love Grow

90's Diva Love

Jomanda's "Don't You Want My Love" was released back in 89 but Felix brought it back in 92 with his rendition "Don't You Want Me". The hooj choons remix is the gold though.

Felix - Don't You Want Me (Hooj Mix)

In With The Old

I've been spending alot of time cruising for old 90s danse hits. Still missing a few of my choice favorites like Felix's Don't You Want Me. Jomanda does the vocals, I loved this tune growing up. But if I had to pick one song that is solely responsible for starting my obsession with electronic music it would have to be Snap's number #1 Hit.

Snap - Rhythm Is A Dancer

I dropped this on NYE, it's really heart warming to see people loving the old rave sounds again. Being 7 years into the 2000s the 90s nostalgic value is rising and it couldn't have come sooner for me.

L.A. Style - James Brown Is Dead

It's been exactly 10 years since this hit graced dance music and it still rocks the floor like no other. Armand Van Helden delivered the best mix of the track, no doubt.

Sneaker Pimps - Spin Spin Sugar (Armand's Dark Garage Mix)

Back soon with something new, promise.

Revenge of the Phantom

So everyone's waiting for Justice's new full-length to drop, I hear it's targeted for spring. They gave us a taste of "Phantom" awhile back, it was only a 2:30 min sample, but now there's a full myspace rip available and it sounds amazing (other than the bit rate).

Justice - Phantom

The sample comes from a Dario Argento horror movie, a band called Goblin did the music for it.

Goblin - Tenebre 20 (Main Title)

Recently this re-edit of Phantom was released on Skull Juice. It's interesting to see remixes of tracks before their actual release but I'm really not complaining. It combines elements from both of the above tracks and how they've been brought together is commendable.

Justice - Phantom Faex Re-Edit

There's a another release called the D.A.N.C.E. EP coming from Justice before the new album drops so keep your eyes open.
