You probably already knew that, but have you watched this video yet? I loved it too much to not share it. If ever there was a perfect progression for two artists as amazing as Modeselektor & Apparat to take next this would have to be it. My only regret is not being on it enough to go see them at Mutek in Montreal this year.
In other new we're getting ready for Shambhala 2009, InOrderToDanse is on the line up for Friday night 5:30am, or Saturday morning more accurately. I imagine songs like this as the sun is rising, hope to see you there.

Romances Remembered
This last weekend was more intense then I would have expected, it started Thursday at The Amsterdam Rhino, which is sadly not in Amsterdam (Thanks for reminding me Nina). However, despite that it was a long weekend and with everyone having friday off throngs of people showed. We couldn't get a break in all night, so it was bomb dropping time at it's best. Friday & Saturday night I put another 10 hours of turntablism in at Stampede Casino to a loyal following of gamblers, this human jukebox takes 20s. Then Sunday night was our Illuminaughty Secret Society Session at Dickens Pub, this is where I had to pull a transformation from pop beats & club shwag to PVC Pants & Industrial classics. 18 hours in total, truly I am more machine than man, however my back would bed to differ.
The musical offering today is a mix of some of my favorite early electro clash tunes, enjoy...

Danse Classics
Thanks to the lovely Violetia we now have content up again. So we thought we would start you off on our new server by offering up a retrospective of the mixes, some of which have never seen the light of the blogsphere.
First up we have a pre-serato mix that was done completely with 12" vinyl records, some folks get a jolly out of that sort of thing. So please enjoy the early minimal blip house musings of...danse
(Warning this mix has been damaged and enters a world of cd scratch hell mid way, hopefully one day a full rip will be found)
I'll post the track listing soon too if anyone wants it.
In addition to being back we have a event coming up on April 12th. We've found a new place to host a Crimson event. If you can make it show us some love on the event page wall, the poster will link you to it on facebook.

I <3 Techno...
So alot of content is down, but we're getting things back up and running. I <3 Techno was amazing as it is every year, spent some time in Amsterdam, seemed like a good time to go since they're talking about changing the red light district and closing alot of coffee shops. Once again the only sets to really make a impression on me were the live acts, didn't even feel Justice really compared with last year which was live I believe.
We got a New Years Eve party happening at the SpeakEasy, you can see what that's all about over at newkinkyeve.com. Check it out if you're feeling adventurous.
2009 will have more events from the Crimson Events, starting February 15 with Illuminaughty.
Have a listen to one of our favorite Butch tracks below, if only more Calgarians appreciated these sounds...

Crimson Video by Orange Tree.
In case you weren't able to make it to our first event in this series, Crimson, here's a video for you to all enjoy. Big thanks to OrangeTree for the capturing all of these moments as I wasn't able to see most of what was going on from the dj booth. Thanks go out to all the performers as well, everyone's contributions really made this night one to remember.
Keep your eyes here for info on our next event, inspired & named after the Story of "O".
